Nice bike. I would have one if I never rode a glide though. Once you ride with a stereo everything else is second rate. My bro is selling his 2008 RKC on ebay right now. Its a very nice bike but I personally need a glide. Cleaning that bike is an event, much worse than mine. The wide whites are a knuckle busting time eater. I'd rather look at one than own one. I like to ride more than clean or maintain but nonethelss RKC's are nice bikes.
Just out of interest, over here in the UK the profile wheels and security system are standard!
I reckon the profiles are easy to clean and I prefer the look of them. Great thing about the secruity system is proximity sensor - as long as your key fob is in your pocket when you approach the bike it disarms and then arms when you walk away. Much easier than the old system.
Agree with the other guys about ABS - lots of posts about it on the site and well worth having - you will certainly know it's there when you brake hard!
Also agree about the lift/jack - makes it much easier to clean not just the wheels but the rest of the bike also. I got a an adjustable stool with wheels so I can sit on it and slide around the bike to get to clean various bits - comfy and lazy!
I don't know about US prices but I did get 3 dealers to competitively quote (September 2007) and saved Ł1700 (about $2500) with a few extras.
I love the turquoise and white colour combo - it really suits the RKC - nearly as good as my Pacific Blue and Black! I have lots of chrome, but it always needs more!
The Road King Custom. Tied with the Road Glide SE orange and black for harleys most beautiful bike! I was gonna get one but the Roadie won me over. More protection and a radio for the long hauls sealed the deal. Anyway, get the ABS for sure!!!! You can always add the security.
