My wife and I both have Vega XTS helmets, they were the only ones we found that looked decent and were DOT. I think they cost around 60-70 bucks.

I live in the UK and the text of the ad I can see at the top of this page is:

"Open Face Helmets Only, Massive Selection To Choose From Cromwell, momo, Davida, Nexx, Arai + More. www. openfacehelmets. co. uk"

Shame you in the US won't be able to see it!

The ad at the bottom of the page is by a UK supplier of Bell helmets!

Not a lot of help, but an interesting coincidence.

I have a Skid Lid 1/2 helmet I bought in '07. I love it. When I have to wear a helmet it is the helmet of choice for me, even in 30 degree weather. But if you can, find a dealer and try them on. I too was wanting to avoid the mushroom look and tried several before I found one I liked.

What they all said about the Head Trip! Great lid and really worth spending the bucks.

+2 on the carbonfiberhelmets.com. A little pricey, but worth it. Anything I can wear all day and not notice it, is a good thing.

Got a Vega XTS the other day...the kind without the snap on visor. It's pretty low profile, about $50, and stays put at 70+mph.

Skid lid is one that fit me like a shroom. Maybe I gots a big noggin but was not happy with the look. Carbonfiberhelmets is the way to go. Bought one for the wife but didn't fit her right so I sent it back. Their customer service is awesome and I will be looking to purchase one for me in the future.

She ended up with a HCI carbon fiber helmet.
