Default helmet

Anyone own a Skid Lid? I'm looking for a half helmet that doesn't fit like a "mushroom" on my head? They advertise a lower contoured fit. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated

The only ones that don't give you the mushroom head is true carbon fiber helmets. They run about $175.00 www.carbonfiberhelmets.com

I like the HCI helmets, about the lowest and lighest profile if you want a dot helmet.

I have a gloss black Skid Lid I bought back in '04 from Nebraska Motorcycle Parts in Omaha. Think I paid ~ $35.00 on sale. I have several helmets - it is one of my favorites. It is DOT approved and fits snug to the head - doesn't lift at speed like some other DOT 1/2 helmets. They are a very basic design, which I like and it doesn't take up much room in my tour pack.

I bought a skid lid and it sat high on my head just like a mushroom. I would try one on before you buy it don't make the mistake I made. Bought one and never used it and sold it at a loss on ebay. I agree with the www.carbonfiberhelmets.com I have one and it was worth every penny.

I agree with Hrlyrider, Head Trip is the smallest, lightest, most comfortable helmet around and worth what you pay for them.

I bought a mushroom head 1/2 in tghe 80s, tooka die grinder and took out 1/2 of the foam, then shaped it to my mellon.

Still using it today, and tomorrow, and the next day.....
