I'm curious what you guys think is a "fair" price & what is a "can't pass" price on a Ultra Classic from a authorized HD dealer rental program. Specs as follows:
2008 Ultra Classic from HD Rental Fleet
12 k miles
1 yr left on warranty
2 tone paint
2 new tires
ABS breaks
few minor blemishes
What do you think the bike is worth since it was a rental bike?
Not sure what a great price would be but I would start by getting the blue book value and go from there. However I am not a fan of buying used rental as you never know how the bikes were truly treated.
Well here in the Sacramento area a couple of monts ago. I looked at a 08 ultra in black pearl with 1,700 miles they wanted 19,800 so I just waited a got a 09 for 23,500 otd
Do what the dealer does. Find the very lowest NADA used value. Use that as your first offer, or compare it to their asking price. Ususally dealers use the poor condition rating, regardless of the actual condition. At least when they are looking at trades. But it still gives you an idea of what they consider it to be worth to them. Anything above that is profit and negotiable.
Give 'em a lowball in the dirt offer $13k, H-D is in the dumper. Apparently not many folks lining up to buy bikes, stock is getting to be worthless. After their initial whining ends you can tell them all the things you're going to have to fix...just like they would do to you. You're in the drivers seat.
