Got my jack today and quickly gave it a try, I works as advertised. The lifting lever has a "goofy play" it feels loose but it works OK. I wanted to get on it while lifted like the video but I'm too sober right now maybe another time. I have a Sears jack also, it's funny how subtle the differences are between the two by just looking at them. The Sears jack works fine I just found my self using it without straps a lot, so I took the plunge and got the JS before my bike did.
I have one also. Like you the jack handle has a lot of play so it will slide in and out easily. I bought the optional tray, but have never used it. I've always used a plastic salad bowl about 12/14 in in diamter. It sits in the jack when draining the pan and in front of it when changing the filter. Old habits are hard to break. I never found a need to sit on the bike when it was on the jack. I guess I'm not that brave.
When I first got my J&S, I had to try it..Lifted the Ultra about 3 inches, climbed on and WOW..never moved...Lifted higher and tried again..Same result...Lifted it all the way and still the same result.
The one thing I like most about the J&S, is that I can move teh bike all over the garage while its in the air, without straps, and that sucker don't move on the jack. I currently am Storing my Ultra on the jack..and moving it in and out of place to get some winter work done on it, and when notr working on it, slide it back into place and put the car back in the garage.
I need a new jack this year. I was looking at the Harley one that cranks up and down. The jack I have has the screw that no matter how slow I try to let the bike down it just drops to the floor. Do you have a link for the jack your talking about . Model # ,

One day I'm gonna try it just be able to say I did.
I turned the bike around very easily so I don't have to back up. I think this will be the what I'll do from now on.
Ive had my J&S jack for 3 years now. And as others have said the bike rolls very easy on the jack, not so much that you would be sitting on it, but in my case I raise it to the highest point then push it up against the wall for space, It went up the last of November and will come down in the spring.. It worth the extra money, Its a very nice ,,ROCK SOLID jack.. Just my 2 cents worth. Tim
