Thanks Firecap, it's not that important since the code doesnt affect anything. My main concern was weather my service writer was truthfull or not, and as it appears he was truthfull. He also said the code doesn't matter because it affects nothing and also doesn't illuminate a warning light so I dont care about it than. I'll just do what my service writer said and always give a heads up about the code and why to any future techs that service my bike. I still enjoy my arc system thoroughly each and every time I ride and besides the 103 build, the arc system was the best mod I have spent money on to date. I love the looks I get at stop lights from youngters while I am blasting Black Label Society.

Sorry for the delay, but here is what you can do if your bike throws this speaker code, not all bikes do this, it is a hit and miss thing, and causes no issues at all. Add a 1 watt 500 ohm resistor as a jumper between the positive and negative on the high level input for each speaker. This will fix ya right up and you can pick the resistor up at any Radio Shack.

I dont understand how there is such thing as a speaker code? And why it is tied into the computer. What do you do when you replace the whole stereo and speakers (which ive heard before cuz of HK unit going bad) that has to throw some kinda of code too. Just asking since there have been a lot of radio/ speaker questions on this forum and this the first ive seen?

Help me out here. My limited knowledge of speaker connections tells me that to achieve a stock 2Ω output from 4Ω speakers is to connect a 4Ω resistor in series with the existing speaker. It seems like 500Ω would make a negligible difference. I'm not arguing but trying to learn something.

you are not trying to achive a 2 ohm load with the resistor. This is all about computer controlled and what the computer is seeing that is all, This fix comes from ARC audio, you are adding just enough resistance to not trip the computer.

The computer looks at everything nowadays, just like our cars and that wonderfull body control module that has been added becuase they did not think there was enough computers in our vehicles. Again it does nothing to the bike

Hmm, can we get a picture of where to put the 1w 500ohm resistor? Don't have my Arc package yet, nor have I opened up my fairing yet. It will be here on Saturday, so just trying to visualize where it will go, if even I do need this computer code fix in the first place. Don't mind if its a pic without the resistor with just an arrow pointing to where.

Default Now that's funny

Firecap........that's funny! You lost me somewhere in the dust talking about ohms, amps, resistors, etc. And then you said you can't upload a picture. That's just funny. I have no idea about all that electrical stuff. Every time I try and do something the magic smoke comes out and whatever it was doesn't work anymore!
