I contacted the owner of a certain tie down company and was told I can't buy any turnbuckles from them, so I am asking if anyone here has any idea where I can buy some turnbuckles about 30" + long.
Kinda like these www.moki-ezlock.com
If you are going to use the third point hitch-they are called 3 point hitch for a reason. The bigger the class hitch you go to the longer and larger the 3rd link will be. They have left hand and right hand threads or go to a supplier that makes river ratchets. They will be able to make you any eye bolt size and length you want. You can the the ratchet with the barrel and eye bolts only- the rest is assembled separately.
What length and size eye bolt do you need? I can ask my ex to check on one for ya.
1/2 inch is plenty big for a bike- 3/8 will hold many many thousand lbs of pressure- like 200,000 +.
Thanks guys, it looks like TSC has all the parts I need, and what they don't have , Ace hardware will have. I'll be into this for about a $100 bill, not $350.00. It will be a simple bolt on to my Kendon single bike trailer.
Now, let me say this about trailering......(for all the guys that think negative about guys that trailer)....when my wife and I go back to Ohio or down to Florida to see family, we trailer the bike, that way, once we arrive, I don't have to go to the in-laws house every time she does, she takes the car and goes her way, I take the bike and go my way. When we're going the same place, we take the bike. This worked out wonderfully this past Christmas in Florida at her aunts. I got lots of riding in while she went where she wanted in the car.
If anybody with a Kendon wants to do this to their's, I'll keep part #'s, prices and I'll take pics for refference.
Thanks again guys !!!
I'm sure there is a short track around you some where. There are vendors that supply the racers with exactly what you're looking for. They're made from aluminum tubing and have heim joints on the ends. You can get them in several lengths. I'd rather do that than the heavy a$$ed third arm deal.
