A question for the Road King riders
A buddy has a RK with the leather bags and wants to swap them out to hard bags. My question is do the leather ones mount the same as the hard bags and if not what does it take to do the job.
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, they mount in the same location. I did the same thing to my RKC, hated the leather and picked up a set of hard bags off ebay. The only adjustment you may need to do is loosen the mounting tabs on the bike and rotate them a little so the connector lines up with the holes in the bags. Not a big deal.

I thought so. I didn't see the MOCO doing it any other way but it never hurts to ask. Thanks for your help.

I run a set of police bags that I rattlecanned for when I go out into the woods camping. I'd be highly pissed if I dropped my scoot on my leather "covered" bags and busted them up. I just swap them out as needed.
