Complete Total Unbelievable Bad Luck
You guys ain't goin' believe this. New 09 EGC comes in. Scratch on inner fairing. Dealer doesn't blink. Orders a new one and replaces it. Great; ride it home. Goes up on the stand to add some stuff. My buddy suggests new speakers that the dealer carries. I'm a musician, so I buy them. Go to install. Top torx screw on the right speaker snaps off in the fairing. Geeeezzzzz. After 2 hours, I coax it out with an EZ out. OK: I'm home free. Put the new speakers in the spacers and install. The kit sez replace lower screws with longer screws in the kit due to the thicker grill. I do. Screw punches thru the other side. Kinda raises a white pimple. ^&)(*&*&(_)(**#$%^ !!!!!!!. Go back to the dealer, tell my sad tale, and say order me a new inner faring. Service manager looks down and sez, yeah we've done that. Looks at me and sez, we'll just handle this. I was in shock. Decided to go with a gloss black paint job. Oh, speakers sound great and the 09 is fantastic. Think I'll bring the service guys donuts Tuesday.

Needless to say, the dealer has my loyality. You guys know those changes to the 09 fairings that beef up that brace cracking problem???; it changed some diminsions slightly. Older (last year) speaker kits need to be measured carefully. Hope this will save others grief.
