Great Ride
Every other weekend I ride from San Antonio to Abilene and back and always take the same route. This time I decided to take a different route and took US-83 from Abilene to I-10. It was in the upper 60s/lower 70s and a nice ride going through the town of Eden which reminded me of Mayberry and through Painted rock population 325. Mostly strait with wide open pastureland and mountains in the distance then turning into woods the farther south I went. Very little traffic, then when I came out on I-10 at the town of Junction the posted highway speed was 80 MPH. All together it was 280 miles and I would recomend it to anyone.
Posts like this are the reason I think this forum is fantastic. The technical stuff and the advice from experienced guys like Rod,Dawg,Sky Doc etc are so helpful but,for those of us sat at desks in freezing cold climates, the chance to share rides around Tx,Fl,Ca and all points South are a bonus too.
I've just had the 'Glide up on the jack polishing the front wheel, had to come inside though, too bloody cold in the garage.
Thanks,Ride Safe.

This weekend several of us are traveling up from Brownsville/Harlingen thru San Antonio to Austin (CoC). Should be nice weather. Its been in the mid 70s last few days. About 750 to 800 miles roundtrip, not a bad way to spend the weekend. I think I'll take a jacket, its supposed to get down in the 50s at night..burrrrrr.
