Default 1st Service

Well, I've put on 1000 miles on my new Ultra and is now ready for my first service. I want to take the first service to my dealer to do, then I'll do my own servicing.
I need to know what I can expect to pay the dealer for the 1st service and what all do they do besides replace fluids.
Thanks in advance for all your help!

I would guess $150 to $250. There is a large list of what the 1000 mile check up entails in the service manual it's probably in your owners manual too.

That 1st service is often part of the purchase deal. Ask about that before getting your wallet out.

Mine on my RKC was $240.18 which included Synthetic in all holes.

They changed all drivetrain fluids, filters and gaskets and then did checks, adjustments and lubing and then test ride. Took them 2.5 hours not including the 45 minutes it took the cleanup guys for the free detailing wash they did afterwards. I watched all the work through their glass window in the shop and the tech was very thorough.

A complete list of the work done is in your owner's manual. My 1K checkup was about $350. It was the first and last time I went to the dealer. My 5K service was done at a respected indy for $140, a significant difference from what the dealer wanted.

My first service was done by the dealer for half price. Full price was $280 so I paid half that. I plan to do the rest of them.

Bend over and grab your ankles. Why would you donate to the dealer?

Oh, maybe to help a good one stay in business???

I've stood near the service writer's desk a few times listening to a few owners **** and moan demanding on-the-spot treatment.

In my case, I've gotten far better service after taking the time to build some rapport with the service guys instead of giving them a load of crap…but hey, that’s just me.
