Been on the fence about having the inner fairing painted on my 07 Road Glide. A local
dealer is offering it w/ installation included for $999.00
Was wondering if anyone has pictures of one in Pewter Pearl to get a better idea, I've
seen them in other colors and they really finish the look...... Thanks Guys
I think the painter was speaking of painting the whole fairing, inner and outer at that price. That or he has spent too much time in the booth without a mask!!!!!!!!!!
Actually if you go to Harley's website, the pewter pearl painted inner fairing for 06 and later FLTR's MSRP's for $995.95, meaning that they are going to charge you $3.05 for labor. As others have suggested, a painter can do it for you for $200-300 dollars. It would match identical should you buy the HD paint to include top and base coat and clear and activator. If you did that, it would run you about $400 so in essence you could save about $200-300 going this route. Then you would still be faced with either doing the install yourself, or paying the dealer to install your prepainted fairing which they will charge you about 2 hours of labor, and depending on your dealer's rate will be about $200 so you theoretically will only be saving about $100. Having said all that, you can get the paint cheaper by matching the code with a PPG paint supplier, but there is really no guarantee that it will be a dead on match unless you buy the HD paint.
What I meant to say was Harley offers a painted inner fairing for your particular bike color
which retails for $999.00 plus installation of approx. $300.00. The promo is for the entire
package including installation for $999.00.
I was hoping to find some-one w/ a photo of there Road Glide in Pewter Pearl w/ the
painted inner fairing before I spend the bucks.
Sorry for the confusion.........
