Default gaskets or not

I have a '05 ultra with a 95 c.u. kit . I am installing a new rinehart trudual system. My question is the original system does not use gaskets and the new system supplies gaskets and has a step in the instructions to install them. When I put them in .. It doesn't leave much thread on the exhaust port studs for the flanges to bolt to. Should I still use them or discard because the stock system didn't use them ?
Thanks in advance
Terry (cherrydresser)

use em...they'll crush....recheck the torque (abit past hand tight) every 50-100 miles til it wont take anymore...you can tell the head pipe is loose when you hear more poppin on decel....but yea, use em or you'll wish you did

The original system does use gaskets and are probably still in there and that is why you are having a problem getting them in. Remove the exhaust and the new gaskets, then if it look like it has a tapper rather than a 90 degree stepped angle where the gasket goes, use a pick and see if you can poke it into the sloped shiny part. Then use the same pick and pull out the old gaskets. If you want a picture, let me know and I will post a before and after for you.

I did NOT use NEW gaskets and have NO leakage. Just make sure the manifold nuts are tight.

No gaskets. Hmm. That's odd.

I used SE gaskets on my 05 Ultra T-Rex true duals. They're thinner than the OEM with the stock exhaust.

So you left the old stock gaskets in?

Yep, just left the old ones in. I changed the pipes the day after I got the bike.

Good job Springer_. What a disaster that would have been.
