Default I have TRUST issues!!! HELP...

I don't trust any HD dealer around my area....... This is in Oklahoma. Everytime I need something I call up to the service department and get some lame *** excuse about how "You can't do that to a bagger," "That wont work on a Street Glide," "Why would you want to do that,"

All these comments and snides about things that I have done to the bike. Here is the best story though, At the HD dealer in a town that has OSU for the college, got a progressive lowering kit for the front end, take the tubes in and the kit, ask for screaming eagle oil to stiffin the front end up, then I tell the guy I want to drop the front end the whole 2". This is the adjustable kit from 1"-2", all you have to do is cut the spacer to length. He says, "You will get whatever the kit has, there is no adjustment in the kit, he has never heard of that!!!!!!!!"

So I don't know who or where to take my bike for maintenance, dyno tune, fluid changes................Any help from people that might know a good guy at a place in Oklahoma?

you need to do your own wrenching and laugh at the tech in the line for food stamps and free handouts. Hell once I had never heard of metric bolts but I have a tool box full of them. Then I have a box full of standard **** for the H~D cause I don't want my local dummies working on it.

I'm with ya, I do try and do most work myself, to this point I have done everything myself, but it would be nice to know that if I can't I know where to take it to have it done RIGHT!

Yes, there is something about those guys in Stillwater, I don't get it either. Have you tried the Harley shop in Edmond, he has done good normal work for me and is easy to talk to. I don't suggest the dealership one in South Oklahoma City. They have a great sales department wiht the best prices, but I won’t let there shop touch my bike again. There is an indy (OKC Thunder Cycles) in the north part of town, that I hear is good and their shop is always full, but I have not used them personally.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks Beary, I have heard good things also about Thunder Cycles also, just don't know anyone there, or anyone who uses them.

I have the same issue with the HD dealer here. There are good people there, you just have to find the right ones. My knowledge of these bikes is very limited, but I do have the manual and also this forum to rely on when I need to question and search for things. A few of the parts guys are just that, (PARTS GUY), they own a Harley, wear HD clothes and hand out your parts that you've ordered. More than once I have heard, "that won't fit on your Street Glide, it only fits on a Ultra. Now a days I just wait for the knowledgeable guys to get done helping with other customers, and ask for them by name.

Nowadays, I make sure I do my research and have my part #s written down. Then after I wait in line behind some yahoo who doesnt have a clue what he needs and ties up the parts guy for half an hour asking for advice, I can just hand him my list, pay the money and get to flock outta there.
Oh, and my bike will never again see the inside of a dealers service dept. If I even ride my bike too close to the building, it gets a new scratch.

This just happened to me in the last 2 weeks. i go to the dealer and ask about a different windshield for my bike. The parts guy shows me the one that i should buy. "It's great", he says. i ask him if he has ridden with one on an Ultra himself, and of course he says, "Well ....... no". So how do you know that it is the one to get? He says that no one has brought any back, so it has to be good. And with a 20% restocking fee, i doubt if they ever will. This is why i rely on you guys here on this forum for a lot of my info.
