After going and looking at an '06 Black Cherry ragged out SG for $13,000 I put my money down on the Black Pearl one for $14,000. Still gonna try to keep the dyna if I can swing it though. It was my first Harley and kinda have made it mine.
Leftcoaster, how much did changing to gear drive run you. Sounds like a better way to go.
It was part of a total package and I don't recall the exact amount but I think it usually runs around $700 depending on the cams. I went ahead with the 95" at the same time and got caught up in the power game and next thing ya know I spent about $3500 and ended up with 100+hp/100+tq. I never worry about those cam chain tensioners, though 'cause they're gone. I'd heard some horror stories and had a friend lose his motor at 6K mi. because of them. Lot's of guys living with them and having no problems, though. You can also change over to the new hydraulic style that your Dyna has - I don't know what that runs moneywise.
to change to the hydraulic stile you have to have the Andrews cam conversion.
then you have to have the 07 cam support plate and 07 oil pump cam chains
the hydraulic tensioners and a few other things it is about 750 dollars Andrews is
the only one that makes the cams they have to fit the 05 engine case and the 07
support plate
