The schrader valve is the same ol' schrader valves used in your car tires. The one in the shocks of my '09 had a slight imprefection on the o-ring, and I replaced it with one from Pep Boys. They are exactly the same, except for the o-ring defect. Works perfectly now.
Am I going to dork up my shocks if I use my compressor dailed down to 50 PSI? So far it's worked for me and haven't blown anything up. Do I need one of these bicycle pump thingys?

It's OK but make sure you are dialed down to below the shocks max pressure rating or kaboom! You can also use a stand alone spare air tank filled to the desired pressure as well, that way you know you won't exceed the shock pressure. I think the max is 50 for shocks, so make sure you dial down slightly below it. You dont run with 50 anyway do you?
Are the stem sizes different with the shock stem being smaller? This may be common knowledge but I'm still shaking my head.
Using the gauge I bought (per this forum) where you can shoot air and check pressure without changing tools, works great on the tires. I'm so glad I bought this thing! Makes it far too easy!
The fitting though won't work on the shock stem. The gauge fitting's too loose. I have no gauge(s) that'll fit to check pressure let alone put air in.
Guess I'll have to hit HD for a proper size quick disconnect and gauge.
What inflater with gauge did you buy that hooks up to your air compresser for the tires? I have been looking for one for the bike and cars so I can inflate to the right pressure in one step but all I can find is ones with the gauge goes up to like 200 but the increments are too big and it would be tough to see 36 or 38. Any one have a digital one or one that you can see each pound?
I bought the Harley's version pump. It works great...This Touring Suspension Air Pump
(54630-03A) looks good, works great and you can carry it with you on a trip. Or, just have it with you whenever you need it.
You never know, you maybe riding down the road and see a 300lb female hitch-hiker and without your Suspension Air Pump you would not be able to pick her up. That would be a lost opportunity and all you could say is, I should have bought one of those pumps from the dealer.
