Just a note, I have 5 friends that are in the Masons. They are of the "Jesters" clan, brand, order, or what have you. They all ride Ultras and they are all "PURPLE"! Nothing against the Jesters but Purple sux. They ride with me to give them class... LOL
Are either one of you members of the Widow's Sons?
Hello Brother, I am not a member of the Widow's Sons. I have heard of them though, but never met anybody who belongs to that club. I do, however, have several brothers in my home lodge that ride. Fun to ride with brothers.
Shriners and Freemasons...all those secrets. Sounds like witchcraft to me!
I'm sorry you've gotten that image of freemasonry. Truly, the secretness of masonry is blown out of proportion. If you'll sit down and talk to somebody who is a Mason, they could inform you that the only thing that is secret about freemasonry is the lodge's financial business and signs of identification. The only reason that is secret is because it (along with the morality taught in the degrees) is the only thing that identifies us as Masons. It has nothing to do with evil, especially witchcraft. Remeber now, when your talking about Shriners (who are all Master Masons), your talking about a group of people who financialy sponser 22 world wide hospitals that are virtually free of charge to children 18 and under. These hospitals specialize in pediatric orthopedics and burn care. To date, over 865,000 children have been treated at these hospitals. That hardly sounds like witchcraft to me. Personally, I am first and foremost a Christian, and I have given my life to a man (Jesus) who gave his life for me. Then I am a family man, then a mason, and then a biker and hot rodder. In Masonry, we are taught to get and keep our priorities in order. I wish the same for all ya'll. If anybody is interested in becoming a Mason and/or a Shriner, all you have to do is ask a Mason. They can tell you how. If not, thats cool too. Just don't bash something that your not sure about.
I just finished dealing with how Special Edition Bikes are labeled.
"ALL" Special Editions for "inventory" control shows up "Shriner".
When this first came to my attention I though--oh well!
Then I received I nice case with my 2009 Ultra's Peace Officer Special Edition birth certificate from Harley. When it said "Shriner" on this one I wasn't unhappy. Nothing against the Shriners at all.
At one time law enforcement received a very good discount. Now it actually cost $200.00 more than a civilian model.
After working through my dealer I was advised yesterday that Harley will correct my bike's birth certifcate and on future orders.
Mine will now read 2009 Electra Glide Ultra Classic "Police".
Since this is my first Harley purchased, I can at least say I am very pleased that they listened!
After 30 years on the job I bought this model to continue to "RIde with Pride"!
Can you give me more info regarding your case from Harley? Mine was not an inventory bike but was special ordered and I never received any case or such. Maybe a dealer thing? I di get a pretty good price on mine though!
Curios more on the older bikes, a friend of mine just picked up a 1978 shovel head shriners editon bike, he is trying to get further info on it but has been unsuccesfull so far, any ideas out there, he is trying to restore it, the strange thing he has found is it has 2 spark plugs per cylinder and we cannot find out who did the heads, no aftermarket name on them.
