I just finished dealing with how Special Edition Bikes are labeled.
"ALL" Special Editions for "inventory" control shows up "Shriner".
When this first came to my attention I though--oh well!
Then I received I nice case with my 2009 Ultra's Peace Officer Special Edition birth certificate from Harley. When it said "Shriner" on this one I wasn't unhappy. Nothing against the Shriners at all.
At one time law enforcement received a very good discount. Now it actually cost $200.00 more than a civilian model.
After working through my dealer I was advised yesterday that Harley will correct my bike's birth certifcate and on future orders.
Mine will now read 2009 Electra Glide Ultra Classic "Police".
Since this is my first Harley purchased, I can at least say I am very pleased that they listened!
After 30 years on the job I bought this model to continue to "RIde with Pride"!
I bought a Special Edition RK in July that was a leftover and the dealer had two they could not be sold until july 1st... I missed the first one but bought the second one.
If you get a Shriner edition bike, don't you have to wear one of those silly looking hats?
BTW, neighbor has an 03 Anniversary, Peace Officer, Shriner, Gold Key, you name it edition or so he says. When I look at it, it just looks like every other black Ultra to me.
I bought my first HD this spring. A '03 Ultra Classic. Found out that it's a Shrine edition (FLHTCUI) and the difference for these is the anniversary sticker is on top of the front fender, not on the gas tank.
I am a mason, a scotish rite mason, a shriner and a jester. My bike is a shrine addition that I had to show a dues card, I could not purchase one off the show room floor it had to be ordered. I did not have to put any money down although I did, dealers hope that you back out on the deal so they will have a extra bike to sell. Yes you get a discounted rate, and are limited on the paint colors although mine is candy red sunglow which was not a color option and I don't know how that happened. But it is what it is....
ok sorry for the nuubee ?
but what makes the diff in the shriner bikes ?
on my ultras title, it has shriner on it so is it a shriner bike ?
The only differece is the paint a ultra is a ultra etc .That being said If you are a Shriner (I am) you can get a bike that is sold as a Shriner bike in any of the coloirs offered that year .I have never bought a shriners bike as they never offered the model i was riding FYI
Shriners and Freemasons...all those secrets. Sounds like witchcraft to me!
Thats because you believe all the hyped up crap you read on the internet
Look into it yourself ,ask a mason or a shriner . If helping thousands of kids a year for free iand supporting 27 free hospitals in north America as well as funding transportation and housing for the families, and leading the way in medicine for pediatric prothieses and burn care (funded by the shriners ) is wrong then you are such a moron . The obligations the Mason takes atre no more secret than the Elks Moose Eagles or Oddfellows you dope .But now we Know about you.....
