If "Lane Assist" works as advertised, I would get the 660 for that feature. Often when I'm on a busy highway like say I-75 thru Atlanta, if you don't know which lanes the interchanges to I-20 are in for example, you can miss your exit. Not that the world is flat and you'll fall off the planet if you miss the exit. It would just be convenient.

Default harley gps

Is the new GPS that harley has a zumo? My dealer is trying to get me to get the OEM navigation but I want to see a map! Is the Harley GPS worth it or is the Zumo 660 the way to go?

I always carry the big HD road map with me and use the Zumo to get me there if I decide to take a different way. The big plus on the Zumo, or any GPS, is the instant ability to do 2 things;
a). It automatically recalculates your route to your destination(I put in a city I want to get to by that evening )and if I see a cool looking road, I take it. The GPS will change the map to get you there.
b). THIS IS THE BIG REASON, I take backroads across the country as much as possible. If I am running low on fuel, I go into the POI lists(Points Of Interest ) and select "Gas Stations" and it will find me a list of the closests stations, and their address and numbers. It will then route me to the one I select. It also does this for almost anything, like hotels, food, HD dealers, etc....

Yes, I was against the whole GPS thing, then I got a chance to borrow a friends in the mountains. The map will show what kind of corner you are coming up on, and you then know how sharp it is no longer a blind corner.

I love my Garmin Zumo 550. Checked on pricegrabber.com and then bought off of buydig.com. I like that it came with a car cradle so I get dual usage from it.

A GPS is easier to use in the rain than a map. The map tends to get soggy.

I bought a nuvi 760 which has a lot of features and a lot cheaper than the Zumo.

You don't need a GPS....it's supposed to be about the ride, not the destination!
