There are a lot of used bikes for sale right now. I'd be hesitant to spend that much on used, and an 06. I'd offer them in the $15's and let em stew on it. If you have cash, better yet. I know financing is far worse on used bikes, so that's something to think about, too. Good luck, it is a pretty ride.
Yea, with the 06 you still have a 5-speed tranny and the original frame which was redesigned. My indy has 1 similar to the one your looking at for 15k without the big bore. I bet it wouldn't book for more than 16k. I would negotiate if I were you
Like the wheels! Nice color but don't care for the black front end.
I paid $15,900 for my 2006 Ultra a year ago (had 5,000 miles) . So the SG with those wheels it might be worth $16K. But with the way the economy is, you should be able to get if for less.
Think about this if you had that SG and all that extra on there what would the dealer give for trade. I can tell ya not very much. Big bore kit, big deal, still an '06. Got burned on trading in on my old 1 a little with all that was in there. For me, it is still a '06 look at other ones same year and mileage and go from there. The add ons really are just there. The vin tells the story. IMO I would offer 13.5k and go from there Nice bike though.
Not to sound too hard but...drive them down as much as you can. Those of us who were around when they were adding THOUSANDS of dollars for an in stock bike (back when you had to wait a year for a bike) now it seems the worm has turned...
Too much cash. You can get a new 2008 for not much more if you can find one in your area.
edit. not to say that bike isn't nice and has great mods already added. I always look @ resale. With the 2009s out and all the advancements you are already behind in the game buying a 2006.
Probably explains why it has been sitting at the dealer since the summer. It is at a used harley dealer and the owner told me the other day that their prices were "no haggle". I almost fell over!!! This is the bike that I want but after talking to you guys and looking at the book price ($15,260), he is going to have to do something.

You're right and if he's no haggle, he'll jest keep dusting it off lol.
