Default 2003 Ultra

I'm looking at a 2003 Ultra with 69k miles, is there anything in particular I need to look for? What's a good price? Thanks

Check the service records if he has any.

With that many miles, I'd be sure the cam tensioners have been checked or replaced.

Default well...

...for starters, blue smoke. It has some miles, but valves and piston rings might be getting a bit worn. Listen for excessive valve train noise.
Get full service records. See if the secondary drive belt is OEM or replaced. Swingarm bushings and possible play in them. Steering head play needs checked for need of replacement of bearings. Rubber motor mounts can wear beyond specifications and be in need of replacement. Wheel bearings would be getting mighty old too.
Price? 10-12K??? maybe. I looked at a '99 Ultra with 40K on it and it was priced at $11,000.00. I passed, but it was gone in a week.
I'm sure others will chime in with some help.

I have the same bike and love it, however, with 69k miles I'd be looking for a deep discount. Unless you really want the anniverdary edition, I'm sure you can find a clean TC88 with less miles at a good price. Many dudes out there selling there stuff due to this bad economy.

This year also has a cartridge in the front shocks. Additional cost to change the fork oil. You will have to base the price on how much it will cost to bring the maintenance up to date. Unless it is a real good price, you can find a lot of low mileage touring bikes out there.

9K sounds fair but a friend of mine found one here in SO. Cal for 8K 22,000 mi no real extra goodies just someone needed to sell due to the economy, dont know where you are but there have been some fantastic deals around here but a lot of sad people having to sell.

I would be a little concerned about the miles until thoroughly having it checked out, I would pay the money to have it checked in spite of good service records.

I have had several Harley's and I have an 03 Ultra. when I bought it I decided I was going to keep it for awhile and I love it, recently added the Baker DD6 and what a world of difference it made.

Up to $11800 is fair. Like the others have said if you can buy it for less than that (especially alot less) more power to you.

Good Luck!
