Default rear lowering kit

I put a cheap rear lowering kit on my electraglide classic, just the little bracket that moves the lower shock mount lower and back to get the bike 1-1/4" lower. My question is, when installed, the lower mount is actually moved "out" about a half inch on each side (the thickness of the bracket) so my shock is actually kind of cockeyed and angled out a little bit. Is this normal or will it really screw something up? I mean, they sell it for my bike so I assume others have used something similar?

don't know what you have, but mine did not do that. by chance can you mount the left one on the right side by mistake? Sounds like that might be what has happened.

When sitting on the bike, left is the left side and right is the right side. Don't mean to offend, but some have made the mistake of facing the front of the bike to figure left and right.

There is a bushing/spacer that goes behind the shock where it mounts on the top. Did you get the bushings?

No I did not get any bushings.......that would explain it!! I got them from a friend of mine and he doesn't have the bushings, the company he bought them from is out of business.........guess I could maybe measure where the shocks would be straight and make or buy some around that distance huh?

Mine came with a 3/16" bushing and a longer upper shock bolt. The bracket on mine is 1/4", so it still is slightly off.

My bracket had 3 mounting positions, in the second position my 07 Ultra bottomed out and cut the rear fender wireing harness. In the first position it appears to be ok. If you keep the air pressure up you may not have an issue.
