I have a 9 1/2 smoked recurve and I love it. You can save a couple bucks by looking into their Blems listed at the bottom of their inventory list. I called Clearview when I was looking and they were very straightforward and helpfull about the imperfections on the shields. The blems on the sheild that I bought can barely be seen and are below the faring edge anyway. I'd buy from them again anytime.
I am very happy with the clearview windshield. Would buy one again if something happened to the one I have now. The recurve does allow you to choose the correct height for you to look over it will perform as well as a non-recurve that is 1-2 inches taller.
I have 2 with recurve and they are great.
Take a sheet of paper and tape it to your stock windshield wide side down and the paper should be touching the fairing. You should just see over the top of the paper if you can you need the 8", if you are a tall guy you will easily see over it, in that case add a second piece of paper to the first only another 1" higher and see if you can see over it yet and on and on till you find the right height for you.
This works perfect for finding the right height shield, that is if you are looking at the ones with recurve.
I have a 91/2 smoked recurve on my Ultra. I'm 6'2" and look well over the top of the shield which is how I like it. No buffeting, and no water when at speed in a light rain. Exeptional quality. Will not be without one.
Got the smoked 6 inch recurve for my 08 SG. Happy with it. Would not want it any higher. Good clear optics, quality is fine. Wouldn't mind the tint a little darker.
I am 6' with a 32" inseam I sit up pretty straight too.
It works great, no head buffering and I look well over it.
Great quality, I have had two friends buy from them on my recomendation.
To save some money try the blemished ones....one buddy bought a blemished one with a very small sctrach at the bottom and it was behind his windshield bag.
