Does anybody remove their vented or non vented lowers during the summer or when it starts getting hot?
Is the air baffle that bolts between the forks on the touring bikes meant to stay on year round or only in the winter?
I don't know what air baffle your talking about between the forks, but I take my lowers off when the weather hits the 90's and the low's are in the 60's. I keep them on all the rest of the time. I took the lower wind deflectors last year and put them back on when my glasses were shaking all over the place.
Don't hesitate to take them off...You'll like the increased airflow on you.
Took mine off this weekend. Highs were in the high 80's, but now I wish I had them on. Got a little buffeting so I think I'm going to get the wind defectors. My brother-n-law has them and he says they work good.
I take the lowers off for the summer, I have the older non vented model.
I wish I had the newer vented units they are cut out more for your boots.
The baffle Chrome or black stay on always. I don't think they do much anyway.
That baffle doesn't come stock anymore (since 05 I think) I didn't think anything about it till the first time I got stuck in the rain. Water drops float up over the tank and right in your face. My parts guy says it should be removed in the summer.
I don't think it matters much. Mines stayin on.
