Default Need a little help

I have been hearing alot about the heritage bars for the Road King. I have a 2009 RKC (first harley). I understand that the heritage bars have an approx. 12" rise, and that no new cabling is needed to make the switch. I really want the Carlini 12.5" gangster apes, so should this mean that any other bar with similiar dimensions should work without cabling? I can't get anyone at my local harley dealership to confirm that no cablling is need even for the Heritage bars.

No cabling is necessary for the 56902-08 H-D Heritage type bars out of the 2009 catalog. I put them on mine. Just need a replacement left grip if the glued on one gets damaged. Or you can put custom grips on.

Thumbs up

I just installed the heritage bars on my 06 Road King and man they are great. Had the old ones off and the new ones on in an hour an a half.

Few minor adjustments to my break lines and I was good to go.

Highly recommend them.

Buy a set and install the Kuryakyn ISO grips while at it...just about everyone who has a set really likes them.

I put the heritage style bars on my road king...took about 2 hours....I was able to remove and re=use the left grip. I still want to replace grips but trying to determine which grips.

these bars made a huge difference in comfort and handling!

Question 09 RK Wild1 518

I have purchased the Wild 1 chubby 518's for my 2009 Road king. The HD dealer said i would need new wire harness or extensions. They are right. I can not use the stock ones. But the ones they sold me do not match a 09 with cruise Ctnl.
Anyone make this change out? where did you get wires and did you have to change clutch or Brake line?

Thanks. my bikes apart and missing rides.

Hi,

I want to buy the Heritage Style Handle bar for my 08 RKC equipped with ABS

Part 56902-08

It says on the HD site, "Does not fit '08 ABS-equipped models"

I read on the forums that a number of people have installed them... would I have a problem or not? Thanks for the help.

I am 5'9", have an 09 Road King Classic... have the HD Reduced Reach Bars... PN 56166-08 on it. They are very comfortable ....just a little more relaxed feeling than stock. Reduces the reach and lean enough to make a comfortable difference.

I went with the heritage style bars and love them. Here is a side by side with the stock bars. I've since pulled them down maybe an inch or so:
