other then trying out different bikes with different bars - is there a way to figure out which ones will work better / best for different individuals ?

Is there a sizing chart if you will - trying to determine where to start because I too need new bars on my 98 RKC

It's all personal preference. Some riders like their hands wide (beach bars), some like their hands up high (apes)...ect. Can also depend on what type of seat you have too? If your local dealer has some different bars in stock you should be able to sit on one of their Road Kings on the floor & have them let you hold the new bars on the bike? The new bars come wrapped in plastic so most dealers don't care about doing this for customers. This is what I did. You'll atleast get an idea of how the bars are going to feel.

I have an 06, FLHRCI, Road King Classic. I put Heritage handlebars on mine 3 weeks after I bought the bike. Very satisfied with them.

I just ordered the Heritage style bars from Zanotti and now all I am just waiting for them to get here so I can install them. From the comments in these posts, sounds like they will do the trick. I am tired of the pain in between the shoulder blades with the stock bars.

I also changed the handlebar bushings to a poly bushing. PN# 56298-03 MSRP $39.95. reduces vibration and less flexing. Did this myself in about a hr or so. The Heritage bars also have the holes for the internal wiring which i didn't do.
Will these just bolt up to my 06 RK?

Are you serious?? My dealer is quoting me a 5 hour job to install these bars on my 09 RKC. I need to know if you did indeed change them out in an hour ~ Thanks

once you get the handlebars off the bike, just dip the left grip in some hot water for a minute. that will soften up the glue enough where you can just twist it off. i've changed my bars out about 4 times (yeah, i can't make up my mind) and am still on the original grips.

once you've done it once or twice, it doesn't take long to do. now your dealer may be quoting you extra time to do the lines as well. the bars are the quick part.

5 hours...for what??? You can't internally wire these bars so I know your not doing that? You changing any lines or cables over to braided ones? All I did was swap out my stock bars for these bars & kept the same grips & lines/cables. My dealer charged me $120 & took him a little over an hour to do.

The bars have been on since Saturday and the difference in handling is remarkable. When you can keep your head up it's like the bike has power steering. 56902-08 Heritage-type bars is the answer. My dealer charged me $120 to put them on, too. Thanks, everybody!
