I would love something like that , buuuuut I have duals. I have seen a plate mounted under the bottom of the fender , but cant seem to remember where.
the plate mount from fireman joes works great with duals. i am working on fabbing up some lighting for mine, but just havent' had the time. i found an led mount on ebay for 6 bucks, and since i don't have the fender tip light on the rear, i am going to use that receptacle on the taillight circuit board for the leds.
Here a couple he sent me of just the bracket by itself.
He has a LED light that hes going to mount on the bracket and a frame with LED's buillt in on order. Either one will include sockets and connector to plug into the tail light.
OK powdercoater is charging 7.50 per bracket, so a total of $42.50 powder coated semi gloss black plus $5.00 shipping in the west and $7.50 in the east, based on the Mississippi. Should have the first batch back by the end of the week.
I used the piece that Spud is talking about. I had it on my 07, that bike was lowered an inch front and rear and the plate never scraped. And it had plenty of chances, lol.
The only changes I made to the plate was I drilled a hole in the tab that fits into the muffler hanger as well as the muffler hanger itself. I shimmed the small gap between the two pieces and ran a bolt through it. That baby wasn't going anywhere! Also, once it was mounted, I bent the plate mount up just a bit so it followed the contour of the saddle bag. As far as it being illuminated....I always figured if the po po was behind me with his headlights on then, by default, the plate was illuminated.......although I probably woulda had that argument analy inserted in a court of law, lol.
It was a nice piece and worked very well.

Well today was a good day, got the brackets back from the powder coater and got the LED frame. It fits realy well and is brighter than the stock one from the Nightster.
