So, has anyone out ther built their own map with an AFR gauge. I use an Innovative Motorsports gauge, It rocks.I run at 13.2 at idle for cool engine in traffic. I cruise at 14.7 2000-2500 rpm and when I jump on her she runs at 13.6 for peak power. I have a 103" w/Andrews 37's and my own ported heads, and believe it or not I get about 50 mpg with 100hp and 100tp, if I drive somewhat sane. Just wondered if anyone else has used this method and tired of the 2 bills for a dyno tune. I use an powercommander so its pretty easy to tinker with.
Yes, just not on my Harley. I have a tacoma that i turbo charged and used the wide band 02 connected to my laptop to tune. worked real well, but i don't have anywhere to put my laptop on my bike....?

I looked into this at one time and decided against it because of the cost, although I don't recall the prices I was seeing at the time. I ended up tuning my PCIII by the seat of my pants, starting with Fuel Moto's dyno-tuned map and leaning the cruise range for mileage as you did.
I've recently gone to a PCV with Auto-Tune which does the same thing and more, allowing me to specify target AFR's. I have 14.7:1 for cruise, down to 13.0 at WOT--mostly transitional values in between. Idle is set to open-loop and runs about 14.0. Mileage is like yours, up to 50mpg at sane speeds and light on the throttle.
