I stand corrected. It really isn't surprising at all that the MOCO would only go back to a reliable part because they could get it cheaper, not because it would actually be a benefit to their loyal customers. I should never have assumed that that was the reason. My apologies for believing that they did it because it was the right thing to do and not because they just saved a few cents per unit. I guess I momentarily forgot who I was talking about.

But that doesn't change the fact that there have been a large number of failures of the INA bearing in unmodded engines and it has nothing to do with the lifter roller failures in the unmodded engines.

Still have my '95 EG Classic w/ 42K mi. Put in an EV37 cam, added a Mikuni and Bub slipons and changed the inner bearing and did the lifters at 25K mi. Bike runs sweet and is solid and dependable although a little down on power. Runs about the same as my Streetglide did when it was still 88". Thinking about putting on a V&H Propipe for giggles. Every time I ride it I smile and almost nobody has an Evo anymore. Don't be afraid of the mileage if the bearing and lifters have been done. It'll live forever.
