For a one-shot deal, go buy 4 sheets of OSB, 5 8' 2x4s and a box of screws. Build a box over the bike. Cost you about $50 to really protect the bike.
+1. I had to trailer my bike before, so I went and got some plywood and 2x4's and basically enclosed my utility trailer. Worked out great and didn't cost much. Plus I made it so that I can remove everything and put back on when I want or need to. Not to bad looking either for what it is.
DO NOT COVER the bike in an open trailer!!
I saw a dude uncover his bike after he trailered his bike to Florida.
He had just had a custom paint job done recently....
It wasn't pretty......
He cried like a baby....

Not to beat a dead horse guys, but there are covers made for open trailer use,
You don't cover it when you ride the same highways so why cover it when you put it on a trailer? I don't get it.
You probably haven't been to minnesota in the winter . -15 to -20 degrees below zero temps can and do happen even into late feb. Then there is the road salt. That ugly white stuff that destroys metal at an alarming rate, which covers all roads till mid april, when the rains finally wash it away for the season.
Thanks for all the input guys, much appreciated.
P.S. Thats the reason for the trip!
