Just got back from my dealer & they installed the new jiffy bracket on my 09 UC. I measured the bike lean before I left the house & when I got home from the dealer. The new bracket raised the bike 1 1/4 inches. Now that's a lot better for me. The work was done under warranty. Just thought I'd let you all know the difference.
When did you purchase your bike? My service manager didn't know anything about it and felt mine was like bikes on the floor now. What is that bracket part # again? I may just buy it anyway - that would solve a lot of problems for me.
There was a previous thread you can search that indicated some of the early 2009's were released with a different kick stand bracket that made the bike lean over further than normal. It is not a problem or a recall issue.
However, some dealers are replacing the bracket for free.

Reason: left some words out
No recall; however if you call HD Customer Service they will give you a reference number & you can tell your dealer HD said to order it & replace it under warranty. It would probably cost them too much $ to do a recall. So if people can live with it HD isn't concerned because supposedly it isn't a safety factor. I'm happy with the new bracket.
I bought mine Sep. 10,2008. Most dealers are not aware of this situation. Mine wasn't until I trold them & gave them the reference number. BTW my Ref #: 946523.
HD Custmer Service: 414-343-4056. I spoke with a gal named Susie. She was very helpful. I would ask for her if you can
Great info - thanks. I'll give them a call. I didn't want to have to put my front lowering kit back on in order to solve the issue. This is better alternative for me.
Since the part number ends in -09, it should be 09's only
Good info! I just got off the phone with them. They said they would call my dealer to authorize the install under the warranty. Be prepared to put up with a little bit of an attitude, trying to tell you quote "we will do it but, you really don't need it " gave me a ref # but had to ask for it, he would just say a ref# did not mean anything. He asked me, how I knew about it, like I wasn't suppose to know. I told him I found it on the internet and he chuckled under his breath as if to say another one of those. I told him the info was rather in depth even down to the part no. and cust serv pho no. He then asked me what site I found it on and when I told him HD Forums, he did state the info from here IS ALWAYS IN DEPTH. By the way it was a sarcastic remark.

Well if they put the correct bracket on to start with we wouldn't have to call them. Somebody didn't plan all the right parts for the 09's on time. Sounds like a mamagement/organization problem to me. It's too bad we have to find these things out on the forum... Thank God for the forum.
