Guys I'm going to install a sirius on my ultra and have a couple questions. I'm using a quatum5 radio and was planning to mount the docking station on the handlebars. But i was wondering if there is too much vibration on the bars. Anyone have a radio mounted this way or have a better sugestion? I'm also wondering where the best place to mount the antenna is? I would like to keep it in the fairing. Thanks in advance..

Article in this morning's newspaper, Sirius XM Raido will file bankruptcy by Tuesday if they cannot sucessfully negotiate with the holders of its debt.
Had the HD XM built in, plus the handle bar mounted unit for Sirius for 2 yrs.. (I used velcro on the back of the receiver to keep it from bouncing out of the mount)
once they merged, I dropped Sirius, since all the stations were the same.
Never had any problem.. other than rain.. just cover the unit with a plastic bag and rubber band.
I used double sided foam tape for the antenna.. mounted it on the fairing in front of the brake resvr. If you want it inside the fairing, just stick it on top of the radio

Eja, Tss-radio.com has everything including mounts for handlebars with a mount for the antenna right behind the receiver. I bought one for my sportster 4 and is working fine on my 09 Ultra Classic. Will be hardwiring it tommorrow for power inside the front fairing.

I don't think that was what he asked! Put the magnetic antenna on top of your radio it works fine. I had 3 different radios mounted to the windshield and dash the vibrations were causing the plug for the power to go bad inside the radio. I have now mounted it to the bars using the screws for the clutch controls. I have had no problems yet. As long as you do not lug the bike vibrations are not bad.

Not to encourage this hijack - Sirius XM was having trouble (as are many other companies) refinancing some of their mountain of debt that was soon coming due. Echostar had bought up $175Mil of that and it is coming due next week . Echostar would like to take Sirius XM over and were hoping they could force them into bankruptcy and then the debtholders could take control of the company. Liberty Media just came galloping onto the scene with some money to pay off the debts coming due shortly which gets rid of Echostar and the immediate threat of Chapter 11. Not sure what Liberty's role will be in Sirrius XM, but I'll bet their not just doing it as a favor.
I has a sirius with the motorcycle handlebar mount - there is a small platform for the small hockey puck antenna - works great, no issues. Popped the plastic cover under the radio and ran the aux cable from the radio into here - so just a bit of the audio cable is showing.
Thanks guys, I'm going with left handlebar and top of the radio..
Hey, before you do anything, take a look at that website. Tss-radio.com
Its called the proffesional motorcycle mounting kit, every thing but the receiver is included for about $65.00. Its worth a look.
