1. For the oil dipstick, buy a Sportster chrome disk caliper cover (1" round) and stick it to the top of the dipstick (#44620-04, $12). This is a lot cheaper than buying a chrome dipstick at $50.
2. To hide the tranny dipstick Allen hole, insert a 3/8" chrome Allen hole plug (#94132-93T, $6 for 10). You might have to spread the clips out a bit to fit properly.
3. If you don't already have them, buy some chrome hex-bolt covers for the rocker-cover nuts ($6 for a 6-pack at Auto Zone). They come in 7/16, 1/2, and 9/16". These covers also work for the round Allen bolts around the tranny.
Great idea on the dipstick! I will order one straigt!
Nice job. I agree with jcbpa, the chrome inner makes a huge difference and even better with the chrome cylinder base cover - it really gets the light reflecting around! Also fitted some Howards air horns - extremey loud and yet more chrome.
Have you noticed, it doesn't matter you do, they always need more chrome?
