Default Motor Candy

Since the budget wouldn't allow me to play inside the motor I decided to spruce up the outside a little bit....but this fall I'll be sprucing inside the motor.

The motor looks great.... I was thinking about the primary cover also, but I was worried road crap would accumulate under it. how tight does it fit?

Looks really nice, did you do it yourself? Was it difficult?

Some cheap enhancements:

1. For the oil dipstick, buy a Sportster chrome disk caliper cover (1¼" round) and stick it to the top of the dipstick (#44620-04, $12). This is a lot cheaper than buying a chrome dipstick at $50.

2. To hide the tranny dipstick Allen hole, insert a 3/8" chrome Allen hole plug (#94132-93T, $6 for 10). You might have to spread the clips out a bit to fit properly.

3. If you don't already have them, buy some chrome hex-bolt covers for the rocker-cover nuts ($6 for a 6-pack at Auto Zone). They come in 7/16, 1/2, and 9/16". These covers also work for the round Allen bolts around the tranny.
