Have you tried a different headset just to rule out the headset?
Yep... I've tried a different headset and different cable too. I've searched all over the bike for loose grounds and loose connections but found nothing.
After Bike Week, I guess I'll be bringing it in to the dealorship to see if they can find the source of the noise. I have the extended warrenty on the bike (which includes the CB radio).
Make sure it is grounded with a meter..not just "looked" grounded....also check for wires (if you can identify them) they are isolated away from potentially other "noise" wires, another words shielding... Or it sounds like a resistor crapped out in the radio
I'm having the exact same problems with my '06. Checked everything like you have and still no resolution. A friend of mine is also having this same problem with his '06. There has to be a common problem here. If you find the solution, please share it with us.

Frustrated in Alabama.
Add me into the mix with my '06. I have been to the dealer with my extended warranty several times with no resolution. They have given up and basically told me to fix it myself.
