I wish I knew all about the crossover line situation on our bikes before I had to remove the tank to run the power line for my amplifier... What a PAIN IN THE BUTT!!!! I bid on the unit on eBay and will take the time to install it as soon as it gets to me... I am glad somebody took the time to come up with a solution to Harley's design fault....
If it is the person I bought mine from. He is a stand up guy. Found a lead from another forum and emailed the orginal person. Mentioned he sold the business to this guy. Emailed him for a quote and was very nice through out the process. High quality piece.

Same guy, Herko, from the other forum. Tim just handles the ebay end of it.
Dawg sent me the ebay link and I asked Herko if I could use that quick disconnect with the HD braided stainless steel crossover line (cutting the line, of course). Was told by Herko the fitting only works with rubber fuel line:
"I regret to inform you that our disconnects apparently will not work in your situation. They are designed for rubber fuel lines only."

Bummer; but a very minor one.
Yes that is a bummer, was going to ask the same question. I know some of the Hot Rod shops sell braided covers and ends for lines that slip over, that may be an option
If the braided line is rubber and just has the mesh covering it will work. That is what i did on another bike i just cut a chunk out of the middle and added a quick disconnect similar to this one. I am buying one for my bike now and i have the rubber hose with the mesh over the top and i will just cut it an put this piece in.
You can always get the braided cover to go over the rubber hose and make it look slick. Another option. With the RG I find it you cannot see the line that much, not a bother. Then again on my RK I had I had the cover.
After I changed out my tins I bought the Harley braided crossover line and I've never been happy with it. The braids pick up a lotta grime and it shows.
I like the looks of this set up just the way it is.
