All of these products use either Buna-N or Viton synthetic rubber for their sealing "O" rings.
Both materials have been used in fuel, oil and SCUBA diving applications for decades.
When it comes to uses in contact with fuel: Buna-N is a physically more durable material but Viton has a better resistance to high temperatures. For purposes such as this sort of a Quick Disconnect, I doubt weather one is superior to the other except to the marketing departments of the sellers.
Here are some links to the Wikipedia web sites for Viton and Buna-N for the additionally curious:

Bumping up an older thread, does anyone know if the Herko disconnects are still available? I checked "herkoproducts" on eBay and they haven't had an auction there since last year. Also searched for "Herko disconnects" on eBay to see if they were under a different seller and got no hits. Tried "Harley disconnects" and just got some plastic ones. Herko's web site is still there, but they don't sell anything through their site. I Googled and can't find any Herkos for sale. I did find this one which might be a good alternative:

Is the crossover line 5/16"? Thanks!

5/16" on the touring bikes. I put the same quick disconnect on my bike, now pulling the gas tank takes just a couple of minutes.

quickcouplings.net is where I found mine.

LCD22005V
LCD17005V

those are the two part numbers you need.

John Wadsworth (Herko) doesn't have a store anymore at this time.

When installing the quick disconnect coupling, did most replace the fuel line or just cut the existing fuel line and install the coupling?

On a 07 UC, the fuel line from tank to injectors, is that a quick disconnect or do I need to order that as well?

Fuel line to injectors is already a quick disconnect. Most change out the regular line to a briaded line, but you can use the stock line. But if it is old it is a great time to change it as they will get brittle over age.

I just installed a quick disconnect for the cross over that I purchased from Herko Products on ebay in 2011. Was going to order another. But I think they are out of business. While looking I noticed other brands come with plastic end you can insert to drain.

Anyone know what brand or parts Herko used? I'd like to find a fitting for draining.
