Got the original wheels/spokes on my '05 Heritage. It had 2k miles on the clock when I bought it in Sept '07. I've had spokes checked and tightened a couple of times (if they get loose, the bike develops a wobble). But today when I was cleaning the bike, I noticed that 4 spokes are broken on the rear wheel!
I'm really p***ed off about this.
I'd appreciate advice guys - do I go for a new wheel (and if so which one), or should I just get the wheel re-laced (and again, I'd appreciate recommendations on which spokes please).
My laced wheels are 5 years old now, no problems with staying true, or broken spokes,but they are a MAJOR PAIN IN THE BUTT TO CLEAN. They look nice, but not sure I would have another pair??
I've been riding for many years and never had a spoke problem, but then
again all previous bikes were lighter then the HD baggers. So is it a weight
problem or is it cheap HD wheels made in China?
I am running them on my king. No problems to date. I am swapping them out in a week for some freshly powder coated 9 spoke cast wheels. Getting away from tubes.
I ordered the Aluminum laced wheels for my RKC thinking that it would eliminate the issues some have with the steel laced wheels... maybe should have posted the question here first. Any others have the Aluminum Laced with many miles on them ?
I'm also considering ordering the aluminum profile laced wheel for my 2009 RKC. Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for the pair (feel free to PM me in you prefer).

Laced are the best looking. No problems on my Dyna. Have to run tubes in them because of the difficulty in sealing all the spoke holes. Emergency flat repair is not as simple as plugging a tubeless tire.
