I have on 08 EGS with 1.5 inch baffle Rush slipons and no fuel/air changes. A local long time dealer said that you don't have to add fuel/air up to the 1.75 baffle you have. They said you will be good through 80% of the throttle range. I haven't noticed any change in heat with my pipe color with my set up. I originally had the 1.75 baffle but they were boarderline too loud for me so I went to the 1.5. Still great sound and even less worry about the fuel/air situation. I would think you should be OK returning to stock fuel. The complaints were from those riding at high speed. Maybe they were out of the 80% throttle range? Just a guess. But then again who rides at that kind of speed for very long? I don't know.
Guys that is the same question I have been trying to figure out. I just bought an 09 EG Standard and a friend of mine gave me a new set of Samson mufflers, while at the parts counter I had them give me a Stage 1 filter kit along with the other $1,200.00 worth of parts, then I asked service how much they charge to reprogram, he smiled and said around $800.00 he said I will need a SERT & Dyno tune (again) !!! can I return the filter and run the Sampson's? all my other bikes required a simple download. any help!

LOL!! I think the dealers could package a plastic dog turd (made in China with lead) and wrap it in SE packaging and sell it for $300.00!! I love that when they tell you "you need this and need that"!
Trophy Husband...if you want a reprogram...just go get a PC-v and find the local indy with a certified DynoJet dyno operator. I find this to be a very affordable option in My area.
+1 to Boxer... I think I saw that option on the shelf the other day...but I think My HD Dealer had it for $350 and 10% off cause of the hard times!
Thanks to all for your replies. As I figured some say yes to download others say no. Here is the update on this for me. I called Rush again & they highly recommend the Stage 1 download even if you do not get the Stage 1 kit. Went to dealer &b talked to service manager about this. They pulled the plugs & they were fine. No signs of running rich; as matter of fact stated they were a tad bit on the lean side. He said we could throw it up on the dyno & check AFR. I said I really didn't want to pay for dyno. Service manager said let's put it on dyno so we can be sure AFR & make decisions based on that & I won't charge you. So on the dyno it went. Results: AFR is at optimal readings. So I told them not to override download back to OEM. Hard to argue with the numbers. At least I feel better now knowing there isn't a problem. Daytona here I come.

Kugie, did they do the standard download for you - in other words, the one that would be done if you had put SE mufflers on your bike?
There isn't a wrong answer here....you talk to ten different shops and you'll get 10 different answers, the download is a little insurance so your mufflers won't discolor, the Rush guy is covering his butt by recommending fuel mapping and without it you won't see a performance increase, just noise.
