I also tried to get the siren into 'chirpless mode' with no success, took it to the shop under warranty and asked them to put it into chirpless mode. They stated they also could not get my system into 'chirpless mode' but nothing was wrong with the system, this was in 2009. Now in 2011 at the 20k maint interval I again asked them to fix this and was told my siren unit was defective and would need to be replaced as the new one they tested with worked without a problem and they were able to set in to chirp or chirpless mode, for the low low price of..... 90.00 ( now out of warranty ) they would be glad to replace the Siren. So if you are having this same problem and are under warranty make them test it with a working unit and do not let them tell you they just cant get yours to work.
When I installed my Smart Siren II, it defaulted to "chirpless" mode. I had to change it to get the chirp. The instructions worked fine on my bike. I also have the pager (the rechargeable one), and had no problem pairing it to the bike. It seems like I had to go through the process twice before it worked, but no problems since.
didnt have any problem setting mine to chirpless mode... it DOES take more than 3 times... you turn it on...wait for the light then back off...wait a second then back on..so on..it took 5 or so times for it finally stop..You keep going through the cycle untill when it turns on and the chirp doesnt.. patience is key.

Old thread but Trekker is correct had my 09 Road King for almost 4 years and I never could get it into "chirpless" mode. Well I just put a new one on my 11 Limited and it might be a pain but I can get into "Chirp" mode or "Chirpless" with no problem. Those having a problem well it just might not be the user who is at fault, just saying.

You'll all laugh at this, but I'm sure most of us have done something like this before. I've been changing tail lights on my 12 SG, and in the process of tracing wires with a tester, I was cycling my switch on and off. I came damn close to stabbing myself after shutting switch off, proceeding to test a pin at a connector, and the damn thing chirped and startled the S**t out of me!!!! Will hopefully be prepared the next time I do that.
I have a 11 FLHTK. A few months ago bike was in and purchased the Siren. Mech poped it in for me. I asked him to set it to chirpless mode. He said only the CVO can be set to the chirpless mode that he knows of but he will try. Few minutes later he rolled it out and said that was his first one that he could get to go chirpless that is not a CVO. He said may be the limiteds can go chirpless also.
