I don't think mine has a name it's so old. You just gotta look at 'em and pick one with the options on it you think you'll use.

Carry a leatherman everyday at work great all around tool have carried for years. Usually Carry my Gerber when away from work wife bought me like it also.

Biggest difference i noticed between the two is the Gerber is little more friendly on your hands when using the pliers.

I've carried Gerbers for years, and had blades replaced free of charge. One of my soldiers gave me a Leatherman receintly, so I'll give them a try also. Either way I can't see you going wrong with either one.

I had one of the originals, back when they only had one model. It broke last year and they replaced it. The originals had a Lifetime warranty. But it sounds like they still treat everone as if it did.

I carry a Leatherman on trips, too. My second favorite item is a mini MagLite.

I pack my leatherman every day. I bought my first one over 20 years ago for about $20. Graduated to the WAVE when it first came out, one for me, one for my Dad, he loved it. Ended up with 2 Wave's, after misplacing one, I bought another before finding the original. The topper was the 25th anniversary model they came out with. My nephew made Eagle Scout so I ordered the polished anniversary model and had it lazer engraved with is name and the date he made Eagle. Hopefully he is still packing it long after I'm gone.....bcb

Used to ride dual sport rides over the Sierras and couldn't carry alot of tools. Leatherman tool saved my butt a couple times. Still have an original and carry the model just before the wave. Pick the model that suits you.
