Radar Detector
Has anyone out there mounted a radar detector under the faring? I want to just have one small LED coming though the dash. I know there are some hi-end models that are made to be hidden, although I’d like to take a typical model and make it work for this application. Not sure if there’s a way to mount the radar pickup portion around the head light ring or lower fork area where it wouldn’t stick out. Any thoughts?

Years ago I had a Kawi 1000 with a Vetter fairing, It had the radar detector mount built in. It worked well but could not hear the alarm go orr and could only see the LED at night.
I tried to a detector in the glove box of my RG and had the same problem.

Custom built in radar / Laser Jammer
Custom built in radar detection, and laser Jamming not a problem. Totally stealth, no one can tell, or see it on your bike unless it is pointed out to them. Behind the faring, not a problem. K40 radar detectors can see through plastic, and fiberglass. Notice my carphones logo, is a bike doing a wheelie, but it looks like a phone, or visa versa. We come to your location, and do the installation right there, as long as you are in the southeast. It takes roughly 3- 5 hours depending on Front and rear radar / laser equipment you want installed. As and ex-Navy cop who ran radar I can tell you that 75% of the time when those detectors go off, it's because I already ran the sweep of you. Simple solution: don't speed (but that doesn't do any good in Surprise, AZ, where they cite even if you are not... long story, grrrrr!).

I have seen 'carphones' installations and I know Kevin personally and can tell you that he does excellent work and I recommend him highly.
