I just put the softbrake bracket on mine. I got a new taillight lens from JP Cycles with the license light on the bottom.

I had been pulled over several times at night on my old Road King and was never questioned on no plate light!

Yes, the plate suport goes right under the signal light bar. I had to widen the holes about a hair. Got the plate relocator from Softbrake.com and the taillight from J&P. Cost of parts including shipping was a little over $100.
