It Pays to be Nice
Last night in my town Avondale, I left the bar at 2:10am on my bike, didn't drink much all night at all...no shots, maybe 3 beers in 6 hours or so, I was to busy playing pool and whatnot. I get on the scoot, stop in the left turn lane waited till it turned to a green arrow, pulled into the intersection and the car that was crawling from far away was now doing 70+ or more... no lights, ran the red light, missed me by 2-3 inches...when i saw he wasn't going to make the stop in time, i gunned it and he swerved to miss me... scared the crap outta me
Avondale cop with no emergency lights on.
today, I get the new scoot and ride to cavecreek rd to show it to some buddies... same crap, cop... no lights ran a stop sign and turned left to go north as I was riding southbound.....
3rd times a charm huh... I can't wait!
sorry for the rant, glad you got out of your ticket...
I agree with most here that attitude is everything when you have contact with an officer. If you can makle em smile and break the tension you are well on your way to a positive contact.
Oh well I thought might as well just pull over he's got me dead to rights...So by the time he finally gets turned around, me and the Missus are stopped and standing beside the bike. He pulls up and I said, 'sorry, guess I was just havin' to much fun". He smiled and told me I had two choices, he could write me up for 75 in a 55 which would cost me well over a hundred bones or he could give me a warning.
I thought for a minute and finally said, "well officer I believe I'll take the warning".
I guess some days it just pays to co-operate with the law.
