The SG turns over pretty quick here.

The buyers seem to be ones who want the ride of a glide but are concerned about being tagged as a geezer.

To each his own.
Same in So Cal.

Weird thing is they sell them as fast as get them in but I still don't see too many on the road.

Must be the size of the area and diverse places to ride but I can pass 25 H-D's on the road on any given Sunday and not see another SG in the bunch.

Strange but true.

As for the pay more for less remark, at least for me, its exactly as AK states above. With less body trim it looks more stripped down and less stodgy. A few more subtle differences than just omitting the lights and lower fairings.

They dont stay on the floor here. Maybe a week, fastest selling bike out there. Its the "it" bike to have this year. but I have a feeling that in a year or two you'll see many SG in the used section of the dealership. JMO

Well here you go - at the dealer to pick up my new RK a month ago and they had one (SG) sitting on the floor - I asked the salesman how they were selling (cause my opinion there a rip off by Harley) stripping parts and jacking prices in the name of "new model" ...

He said "I won't order anymore cause I can't sell them, people would rather buy the Standard or E Classic and do there own thing rather than have Harley take off the lower faring and driving lights" ... I suppose it's different in every area of the Country but it seems to be what's going on here.

Makes sense really - the lower faring has got to be worth a few hundred bucks or more on Ebay yes/no ? Why not pay the same for an E-Classic then change it at will by putting on or taking off the stock parts. I would rather take off the parts and have them then not have them at all.

Kind of not dressing right in Winter you can always take off the extra sweater - but if you don't have it with you - you can't add it if you don't have it.
What do you do dude...cruise around a wait for a Street Glide thread so you can come in bash? Hey...glad you like your Road King. They are great bikes, but come on...you secretly want one of these Street Glides don't you? I think you protest too much! Funny how you are in the distinct minority when it comes to an inventory thread as well as satisfaction levels. Believe it or not, I know a guy...seriously...really really who traded his Road King for a Street Glide. He's happy.

A few more subtle differences than just omitting the lights and lower fairings.

Right on Primo. No trim on front fender (personal choice here, but I prefer this look), different gauges, mirrors, seat, rear fender trim, floorboards, hinges on hardbags, and wheels. Plus lowered suspension and different location for turn signals.

Most of the time I'm just joshin' is all, all in fun, good rivalry never hurt no one... (as long as no one takes anything personal now)

Now for (SallyAnn) - why thank you my dear Lady, I truly am flattered - and as soon as the ole' "SO" gets around to divorcing me (hopefully sooner than later) My door will be open, that's if I have a door left when she's through with me - LOL ... [sm=bangbang.gif]

Hey Bruce - Kudo's Brother - right back at ya'
