I just traded my 07 sporty in on an 09 ultra almost a month ago and still have yet to figure out a good way to mount the HD headset in my half helmet. I have an HCI 1/2 helmet that I've had great luck with, except trying to mount the headset that came with my ultra.
the 2 problems I am coming across is mounting the mic clamp setup and having the mic actually reach to my mouth, and the cord that connects the headset to the bike would be running out the front right over my face.... The only place I've found that seems solid and able to clamp the headset to is on left side right above my ear inside the V for the left strap....
Does anyone have any tricks to get this headset to mount in a half helmet?
If I can find a way to mount it and keep the cord out of my face and the mic reach my mouth, I can just pickup some ear pouches somewhere and mount the earphones, but I won't bother with that until I can get it mounted.....
Check with your HD dealer I believe they have what I'd call a rigit flap that can be inserted into your half helmet and the head set mounts to it. I haven't done it but was told this by a freind that did. I mainly listen but have the hand held mike if I feel the need to talk.
You can get some of THESE and attach them to your straps with velcro and put the speakers in there, or you can get one of THESE and use it with your helmet

I looked at these for the earphones but still can't come up with ideas for the headset/mic itself. I will call and ask about the rigid insert. thanks
