I haven't been keeping an eye on cdn prices....but I think that the touring models went up by at least $1000 on mar 1st....Sales must be booming up here I guess.....Can anyone confirm this?
I just did a deal on a 09 RKC for a new project, and was warned about the price increasing March 1. The prices went up 10% earlier in the year, and the price had to be adjusted to offset our weaker CDN $$$. My dealer thought the price would go up another 10% on top of the increase earlier this year--so if they only went up 1k, I guess thats a better deal than expected.
yep looks like the raised them up again they were 26,069 last week and they are now 27,369 for colour models glad I bought mine in sept and paid 23,000. the exchange rate screwed me on my 2003 and wifes 2004 then watched the prices drop every year after that. those 2 models combined cost about 9 grand more than the 2008 models. I sure didnt help me on the 2009 trade in either. figure I would take the hit and move on a bike before the dollar started to climb. the dollar was about 8% when I bought mine and I figured they would follow the dollar, just like a gieco commercial I have saved 4,300 so far. the ultra in 2003 cost 32,999 I had to settle for a clasic then at 28,999 I couldnt justify paying 4 grand more for cruise, trunk tail light, cb, rear speakers, lowers. cant see them selling any bikes now at these prices and crappy job market. think dealy needs to drop their mark up, when the dollar was equal added about 2300 to a canadian model over the usa price. Im sure if you check the parts prices they just went up . this only a 20% increase so far so get out the ky jelly and bend over futher. the bank rate is at 30% , bet they go up again in april. they seem to be about 2 months behind the bank rate on the last 2 increases. if you planning to get one its a bit too late but , I bet they still keep going up. the Dollar was at 48% when i bought my 2003
It seems that, the importer, I forgot the name is getting greedy. I remeber a couple of years ago Claire's in Font Hill wanted 29k for a RG. 10k over the U.S. price. I thought that was insane.
Yes, Gentlemen, you are all correct. The importers name is Deeley. I ordered my 2008 Street Glide way back in October 2007 and boy did I luck out. Base model price for Vivid Black was $20,780.. I added cruise$210, security$420, and abs brakes $780 or so..
Now, a 2009 Street Glide in Vivid Black is over $24,000. I cannot believe what has transpired in a little over a year. The 2009 model does have a lot of new stuff I would love to have, but I think I'm hanging onto this one for a long, long, time. Ride Safe....
Could you not shop around in the U.S. find a good deal and then pay duty. Would it not be cheaper then buying in Canada? I know a friend that did not have to pay much duty. I cannot remeber the whole deal though.
