my bike, my job, my money, my yard, my house, my wife......Anyone see the trend here?.... she gets all the stuff she wants and i get all the bikes i want. until she gets a job i still control my world. i know that sounds so mean.
Hey Tbone, I didn't want to tell you, but i figured I had to. Liz bought me my ride as a gift, and she doesn't care what I spend on anything. Why, because I bought her a house and a cottage. It's all relative.
Well I can see that I am not the only one here that has my problem. I bought a new set for floor boards and right off the bat she goes nuts.. I said at least look at them and tell me what you think about them so she did and loved them. She even had the nerve to say well, this one time is okay. Then I boought the saddle bag rails, same thing happened.
I believe my wife just likes to yell a little to at least make her think she has a little control. I give her that feeling and I take chrome from the Harley store. See, give and take.
Hey,
I'll chime in. I have my money. My wife has her money. She doesn't tell me how to spend my money and I don't tell her how to spend her money. I wanted a new bike so I went and got a new bike. Oh and by the way my wife approved once she got on the street glide and saw how much more comfortable it was over the sportster 1200.
I've got just the opposite "problem..." She is always wanting more chrome, and in some cases is buying the wrong "theme" of items I want installed. It all works out okay, though -- I just take what she bought, return/exchange it for something that matches the theme of the bike, and install the new item. She just likes the overall result.
Yes, it is "our" bike, and she is the one usually most vocal about "riding Harleys" and wanting to keep modifying it.......

GrayRider: You know darlin', I was passin' a truck on the Road King in the mountains of North Carolina and had to downshift to get around him before the lane ended. It was close.
Appalachian Princess: What can you do about that? That sounds dangerous!
GrayRider: Well, I need more power. I think 95" and cams would do the trick.
Appalachian Princess: Baby, you go ahead and spend the money on that then. I want you to be safe.
I have not had any problems yet but I have only been married since January this year. She always tells me she doesn't care what I buy for it or my other project a Ford Mustang. But I guess this will all change. Everyone tells me that it will.
I can't give you much of an answer. My wife has a Heritage Softail, and she usually buys more stuff than I do. She put near 2,000.00 on the bike the day after she got it. She also has a lot of HD clothing, and continues to buy.
As far as her money, my money, we are in a partnership, it's our money. I always run big purchases by her, and she does the same with me, but she doesn't say much about my HD purchases, cause she knows that next time it will be her wanting something for the bike.
