Could be a coincidence. I had a similar problem. We were packed and on the way when it became harder and harder to down shift. Finally got stuck in gears and neutral was impossible. Made it to a dealer. Bottom line was the cross shaft from the shift pedals to the linkage had some dirt in it. There is no lube fitting for this. They cleaned it up, wiped on a bit of grease, put it all back together and it shifted better than ever. So simple, but so frustrating. I have since drilled/threaded for a small grease fitting and all is well.

Thinking of it, same thing happened to me couple years back. 06' dyna. Tranny didn't want to shift when cold. Told that shaft between clutch and tranny hadn't enough grease. Shaft greased; problem gone.

Check the shift linkage for smooth operation.
Is it possible the primary is over filled?

When I did the heim joint mod to the linkage,I also put a zerk in the cross shaft,those two things really made a difference for me,thanks to the sharp members here.
