My 09 candy rootbeer with cruise, security and standard wheel has arrived. Now the questions...
I rec'd what I beleive to be a good deal on the bike as well as my trade, yet I have several things on my 07 Softail Standard that I want to take off and put on E-bay since you really get nothing for the extras on the trade. The question is, first, is it worth taking off my V & H big Shots and power commander and putting on e-bay or elsewhere, is it worth hassle. If I take off the power commander and pipes, do I have to do anything else to bike or will it run fine enough to take up for the trade. The place that did my pipes told me to make sure I go the o2 sensors off as well, but wouldn't that make the check engine light come on? Also where exactly are they located if they can be removed?
I plan on taking my windsheild, seat and bags off the bike and try to sell with pipes, but if pipes are too much to do, I will just leave on with bike. Could go tomorrow and pick up bike as long as my credit union is open, not getting loan from Harley Financial as the rates are over double what the Credit Union is, Harley wanted something like 14%!!! My current bike is with Harley at 4.9%.
Anyway, looking forward to new ride, but might just have to wait a few days to figure out what to take off and on my bike and get the funds together. Stinks as the weekend here is supposed to be great for riding!
my 2 cents: take everything off from the bike and sell.
was bike dyno tuned with the power commander? or was a canned tune loaded via the PC? if yes, then simply unplug it and should return to stock (not 100% sure on this though)
Dealer doesn't care what is on bike, that was made clear. Price for trade was site unseen from all dealers I dealt with.
As for dyno, it was dyno'd after install, I called shop where it was done and they claimed I can just unplug the power commander and remove pipes and put stock back on. Just wasn't sure if that was all to it?
